Mel and Nick have long since envisaged a festival that would be a celebration of all things creative. One that was wholly accessible to anyone and everyone, regardless of background and circumstance, and No Limits Festival has been a fantastic realisation of that dream.
Bringing together authors, illustrators, poets and musicians. Independent creatives throughout the region and beyond who displayed their work on stalls. And of course, schools who set up camp for the weekend with their wonderfully inspired displays of their chosen ‘Book in a Gazebo’. The pupils and their families who encapsulated the enthusiasm of the weekend perfectly, and the teachers and school staff who clambered on board the No Limits train and ran wild with their imaginations, many of whom who also gave up their free time to support the event.
From adult author events in the Regency Dining Room (as well as a mini Rabbit Hole in the outer Garden Room), workshop events for adults and children. The children’s events in the outside marquee. Fabulous displays on the main lawn, musical performances and spoken word poetry, we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our co-organisers, Normanby Hall. Without them and their amazing staff No Limits would not have been what it was. From opening the entire site for the weekend for free, to calming nerves and just being generally brilliant people. We’d also like to thank every single person who contributed in any way shape or form over the weekend, in the lead up or the aftermath!
The weekend was a resounding success. With around 7,000 people visiting the festival over the course of the weekend, we were thrilled to see so many happy, smiling faces as they got to meet authors and illustrators, they have long admired. Or be inspired by performances.
And we are thrilled that No Limits Festival 2023 is a thing, and so save the date for the weekend of 23rd and 24th September 2023, because No Limits will be back – bigger and better!
